Welcome to Fenway Golf Course. Left Image: Plateau, the 9th hole at Fenway, is named after the elevated green that is protected by three bunkers. The right side of the green is protected by a large trap well below the green's surface. The trap, affectionately known as "big mouth" will catch any errant shot that is hit to the right side that does not carry to the green. This par 4, measures 400 yards from the championship tee. The right side of the fairway is protected by a large oak tree, the left by a row of trees. Right image: One of A.W.Tillinghast's famous short par 4's, the 15th hole, a dogleg left, is known for its small green, that slopes severely from back to front. The hole measures only 301 yards. The front portion of the green is quite narrow, only 15 feet across at its most narrow part. The green is protected both left and right by traps. Knowledgable players will lay up short of the green on their second shot when the pin is up front. A back pin offers a more foregiving approach. |
